Chafik Kouwatli, founder of S.O.S KIMIAL, in the brass helmet of the Beirut fire service

Beirut · Since 1967

We have walked toward the fire for three generations.

It started with Chafik Kouwatli, a firefighter in Beirut. His family still carries the name. They supply, install and service the equipment that protects Lebanon, from a corner shop to a UN convoy.

One man ran toward the fire.
The name he wore still does.

The line of fire

From a helmet in 1932 to the fire trucks on the border today.

A firefighter in Beirut

Chafik Kouwatli joins the fire service. For thirty-six years he answers the calls everyone else runs from: Tripoli, Sidon, and then Beirut.

On the streets of old Beirut

You could see it coming through the traffic: a white pickup marked S.O.S, stacked with extinguishers. The family had turned a lifetime of fighting fire into protecting the whole city, one workshop and one call at a time.

Knowing fire becomes a trade

From a small office in Beirut, the family builds S.O.S KIMIAL: extinguishers, refills, and advice you can trust.

Detection & alarm

Nothing else starts until the building knows.

Most of the buildings that call us want only this: a panel, detection through the floors, call points on the escape routes and sounders that carry through a closed door. Designed to NFPA 72, and handed over commissioned.

Engineered systems

When water is the wrong answer.

Some rooms cannot be flooded with water. Server halls, switchgear, archives and generator bays take a full gas suppression system, with the agent quantity calculated from the volume of the room itself.
